Duterte to set up ‘8888’ citizen hotline for complaints

Similar to your favorite fastfood chain’s hotline number? Well, this one is so much more useful, especially if you often deal with government offices.

President Rodrigo Duterte wants to put up a citizen’s hotline number that will receive complaints from FIlipino citizens

“I am setting up a complaint office 24 hours manned by 10 operators over the entire country,” Duterte told his Cabinet members during their first meeting as reported by the Philippine Star.

“The number would be 8888 and they can report to me any complaint and there will be a manager who will read their complaints with the proper office,” the new President added.

Earlier, Duterte announced that he wanted 12 hotline numbers for people’s complaints, but a unified number like 8888 makes much more sense.

The plan is reminiscent of Duterte’s plan to set up a 911 emergency number soon.

In his inaugural speech, Duterte promised to restore public trust in the government.
