Duterte says if wins as President, he’ll tap Poe, Robredo to be part of Cabinet

Does this mean he’s paying them a compliment?

During a campaign sortie in San Miguel, Bulacan, current poll leader Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was asked if he was inclined to appoint any of his rivals to a cabinet position should he win.

Duterte said he would appoint Poe as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) or Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary.

“Duterte, however, reiterated his opposition to the Supreme Court decision allowing Poe to run as president,” reports Nestor Corrales on Inquirer.net.

Duterte also mentioned that he wanted to appoint Camarines Sur Rep. Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo to be part of his Cabinet as his “assistant president.”

Duterte clarified that “the position would not mean Robredo would take the position of a vice president,” but that she would function like “an undersecretary.”

Of course, Duterte may just be joking.
