Duterte says he’ll give up cursing when he’s officially President

Disclaimer: We don’t know if he’s joking or not.

Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte has said that he will stop cursing in public when he becomes President.

“Duterte, known for lacing his speeches with curses and invectives, said he acknowledges the serious nature of his office and that he is only enjoying the remaining days before he officially becomes the President,” reports Dharel Placido on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Duterte was quoted as saying, “There is a protocol to follow. Maybe I have to read my speech. ‘Di na ako pwedeng magloko-loko dyan. Kapag nandyan ako, ‘di na talaga, (I) swear to God. Hindi na talaga ako mag-putangina, putangina (I can’t make jokes when I’m already in office. I’ll stop it, swear to God. I’ll stop saying, ‘You sons of whores’).”
