On Thu, Jun 25, during a meeting with business executives at the Asia CEO forum in Makati, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was once again asked if he was going to run for President in 2016.

Duterte said, “Ayaw ko talaga (I really don’t want to). It’s no longer my time. Give it to someone else who wants it.”

He also added, “I never aspired to run for any national position.”

“Despite his continued surge in surveys, the 70-year-old mayor said he would never regret his decision not to run for president. Duterte has been in public office for 30 years, being the city mayor of Davao for 22 years after being reelected. He is known for his strong political will and disciplinarian leadership style in Davao City,” reports Nestor Corrales on Inquirer.net.
