Duterte: At least 32 mayors involved in the illegal drug trade

This is beyond explosive.

Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte has said that there are at least 32 newly-elected mayors who are suspected of using money derived from the illegal drug trade to finance their respective campaigns.

“Now, there are mayors in the Philippines who were elected because of drug money,” Duterte stated. He did not mention the names of the mayors concerned.

“Duterte vowed that upon his assumption to office he will immediately designate trustworthy chiefs of police to closely monitor the activities of the mayors,” reports Efren Montano on Journal Online.

The report futher noted: “Duterte said he would immediately order the arrest of the said mayors once their illicit activities, particularly their links in the drug trade, are proven. Duterte warned the mayors that the police chiefs have been tasked to shoot them down if they resist arrest.”
