On Mon, Apr 18, during a campaign sortie in Bacolod City, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Baya (PDP-Laban) standard-bearer and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte once again fired off statements to fend off critics who have persisted in castigating him for his use of foul language and penchant for controversial statements.
Most recently, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) slammed Duterte for hsi dirty mouth.
For his part, Duterte had this to say to the CBCP: “Ako ‘yung kandidato na masama ang bunganga, pumapatay ng criminal, pero CBCP, hindi ako magnanakaw (I may be a candidate with a dirty mouth, I kill criminals, but CBCP, I am not a thief).”
“Duterte also lashed back at his opponents, who were quick to express their opinions against the mayor’s comment on rape,” reports ABS-CBN News.
He stated, “Ako hindi ako namimilit ng tao. Choose. Kung si Binay ang presidente, anong mawala sa inyo? He is a certified plunderer. So with Mar Roxas. Akala ko hindi abusado. He’s using all the resources of the government and money (I am not forcing anyone. Choose. If Binay becomes President, what will you lose? He is a certified plunderer. So with Mar Roxas. I thought he would not take advantage. He’s using all the resources of the government and money).”
Duterte then vowed, “Despite or in spite of my mouth, I will give you a clean government.”
