DSWD needs volunteers to pack relief goods

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is looking for volunteers to repack relief goods at the DSWD National Resources Operations Center in Pasay City to be distributed at 199 evacuation centers in disaster-affected areas.

According to the DSWD, 77 of the evacuation centers are in Metro Manila while the Calabarzon region has 59. Central Luzon has 47 evacuation centers open while the Cordillera Administrative Region has six. Mimaropa has one evacuation center. The evacuation centers are providing relief and shelter to 41,000 people, the department said. 

As of Tuesday morning, the heavy rains and flooding caused by Habagat and Tropical Storm “Maring” have affected 125, 024 families across Luzon.
