Drunk Pinoy goes berserk in US-bound PAL flight

How could a more-than-old-enough dude traveling with his elderly parents behave so badly?

Prior to boarding Philippine Airlines flight 112 heading to Los Angeles, Edgar Nonga, 53, had four drinks at the Ninoy Aquino international Airport lounge. Perhaps, he felt it was alright to “let go” as he was going to be with his parents.

“Upon boarding, Nonga, a California-based security guard who visited relatives in the Philippines with his parents, helped himself to a bottle of whiskey that he saw in the plane’s galley,” reports ABS-CBN North America Bureau correspondent Steve Angeles on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Nonga kept drinking. The trouble, the report said, began when the crew decided he’d had enough and wouldn’t serve him any more liquor. Nonga didn’t like this.

The report noted: “According to a witness testimony in a federal affidavit, Nonga began cursing at flight attendants in Tagalog and even threatened to have one killed if they did not give him another drink.”

At some point. Nonga punched a male flight attendant, who had only tried to protect a female co-worker from Nonga. In fact, Nonga had reportedly puckered his lips and attempted to kiss the said woman.

The report added that “after Nonga was restrained, he returned to his seat. His mother then spoke to the attendants and told them to ‘do what you have to do’ because Nonga wasn’t listening to his parents either.”

As a result, Nonga was arrested upon landing in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, Feb 23. Nonga now faces federal charges for disrupting a flight crew which carry a 20-year prison sentence.

Nonga’s story? He said he didn’t remember what he had done.

Yeah, right.
