File this under “things you shouldn’t do while drunk.”

A drunk man tried to grab a security guard’s gun after the latter prevented him from entering the LRT-1 train station for being intoxicated, as seen in a video that went viral over the weekend.

Facebook user Allan James Onduna Macasulong posted the video on Wednesday showing the scuffle between security guard Romeo Rallon and suspect Ryan Dima at the Pedro Gil station in Manila.

According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the two got into a heated argument after Rallon told Dima that he is not allowed to enter the station because of his drunken state, the Manila Bulletin reported.

The video shows Dima assaulting Rallon.

At the start of the video, Dima tries to hit Rallon with a steel pole as the security guard attempted to retrieve his firearm.

Thankfully, a person off-cam managed to stop Dima by holding the other end of the pole. However, Dima refused to be deterred and attacked Rallon once again, this time, he reached for Rallon’s gun as they tumble down the station’s staircase.

Dima tried to grab the gun as Rallon attempted to get it away from him by holding on to it. The altercation continued until authorities arrived to arrest the intoxicated Dima.

The video now has close to 1 million views, 14,000 shares, 3,000 comments, and close to 2,000 reactions.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer‘s Libre reported that the LRMC reminded the general public that intoxicated commuters are not allowed to ride LRT-1.

“We wish to remind the public that as a policy, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) does not allow intoxicated passengers on LRT-1 in consideration of the comfort of other commuters,” said the LRMC.

ABS-CBN News also reported that Rod Bulario, the head of operations of the LRT-1, said that they will add extra CCTV cameras in the area where the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, Dima was reportedly brought to a hospital first before he was brought to the police station.

Most netizens criticized Dima, with one saying that authorities should have acted quicker in arresting him.

Facebook user Enzo Malobago wrote in Filipino: “They (authorities) weren’t even quick in handcuffing him. Christ. In other countries, they would make slam him on the floor [so they could arrest him quikcly]. They should have urgency. They’re two [authorities], my god. The suspect could run or even steal another gun.”

Facebook user Richard GaLin Briones said in Filipino: “You *sshole, good thing that guard’s nice.”

That guy should be jailed, it can be clearly seen that he was trying to get the gun,” wrote Den Hye.

Julian Pagsuyoin said he should’ve been shot because “he tried to grab a gun already.”

However, some went overboard with their comments, saying that the drunk man deserved a harsher punishment.

Eds Balayo wrote: “That animal should be killed.”

“That *sshole looks like he’s on drugs… He should’ve been killed,” said Nollie Piamonte.

The Manila Bulletin reported that Dima is facing charges of alarm and scandal, assault, physical injury, and damage to property.
