What’s worse than an idiot who can’t handle liquor? A law enforcer who can’t handle liquor.
“On Sunday, March 31, Police Officer 1 Ronel Ancheta, 29, was drunk when he decided to interrupt a volleyball game in his Caloocan City neighborhood,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
Just like that, Ancheta reportedly approached one of the players, identified as Christopher Palon, and asked, “Ikaw ba ang siga rito (Are you the neighborhood toughie)?”
According to the report, Palon had the good sense to just back away from Ancheta. Unfortunately, the drunk Ancheta was on a roll. He went to the table occupied by those officiating the game and then threatened everyone in sight. To prove he was macho, he then drew his gun and fired a warning shot.
Police officers later arrested Ancheta. They didn’t find his gun but they recovered a spent shell from a .9mm pistol on the scene.
