Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) recently discovered that those selling illegal substances have come up with a plan to entice more users — they’re offering a friendlier payment scheme. Yes, you can now buy shabu and pay for it on installment.
“The MPD revealed that they learned about this from Wilmalyn Balentong whom they recently arrested in San Andres Bukid, Manila. She was said to be engaged in supplying drugs on loan to jeepney and pedicab drivers,” reports Itchie G. Cabayan on Journal Online.
The report noted: “A cop was tasked to pose as a pedicab driver in need of shabu but did not have the money to pay for it at the moment. As soon as Balentong handed over to him five sachets of shabu, police pounced on her.”
Balentong later explained that “the shabu sachets cost PHP1,000” and that she told the poseur-buyer “to pay her PHP200 a day until he is fully settled.”
Balentong is now detained at the MPD-Station 9.
