A taxi driver was found dead in his taxi found along East Avenue in Quezon City.
Demetrio Garcia, 54, was found dead at around 4am on Wed, May 27, inside a unit of 24/7 Taxi at the corner of East Avenue and Mayaman Street.
PO3 Hermogenes Capili of the Quezon City Police District – Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said Garcia’s body was found at the back portion of the taxi.
Garcia was shot dead. Police said Garcia’s body was discovered by two women who were waiting for a taxi.
Police suspect that Garcia, a resident of Taguig City, was killed somewhere else before his body was brought to Quezon City.
Although police suspect that Garcia was robbed, they noted that the victim’s watch and wallet were still with him.
Police are now looking for someone who may have seen who abandoned the car in the area. —from a report by Dennis Datu, dzMM
