It’s graduation season and many of the country’s lawmakers and politicians have been tapped as speakers for commencement rites.

Last Saturday, March 21, Senate President Franklin M. Drilon spoke before the new graduates of Don Honorio Vicente Technological State University at the school’s 154th commencement exercises in Bacolor, Pampanga.

In his speech, Drilon encouraged the new graduates “to contribute immensely to the government’s development efforts, and to help promote and protect national interests.”

He added: “Never stop learning, never stop pursuing excellence, and never embrace mediocrity in exchange for temporary convenience and rewards.”

Drilon received a plaque of appreciation from Don Honorio Vicente Technological State University President Enrique Baking after his speech.
