Drilon dismisses ‘pork lists,’ says Senate remains strong

Never underestimate the power of denial.

“In a press conference on Thursday, May 15, Senate President Franklin Drilon reiterated that the Senate as an institution will remain solid even if all senators will be dragged into the pork barrel scam,” reports ANC.

Drilon was quoted as saying, “The Senate is an institution of democracy. We are a government of laws, and not of men.Politicians will come and go, but the Senate will remain strong.”

Drilon likewise added that until proof is presented, the so-called pork list of Janet Lim Napoles will remain “just a list.”

To date, the Senate has issued subpoenas for the lists of whistleblower Benhur Luy and Justice Secreatry Leila de Lima.
