During the budget deliberations of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Secretary Rogelio Singson said that they are studying possible solutions to ease the traffic woes on EDSA.
Singson said that one of the proposed solutions is the strict implementation of a carpooling scheme. Under this scheme, as reported by GMA News Online, private cars with less than four passengers will not be permitted to go through EDSA from 7am to 10am and 5pm to 8pm.
Another solution being proposed is the addition of buses, particularly those that could travel from Trinoma in Quezon City to Makati City.
In addition to this, as detailed in a dzMM report, the DPWH said that the Skyway 3 would be help ease the traffic along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEx). The Skyway 3, though, is targeted for completion in 2018.
