DPWH asked to explain delay in road projects

What reasons do they expect from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)?

“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority MMDA) is asking the DPWH has to explain why the completion of road projects across Metro Manila has been delayed,” reports Mike Frialde in The Philippine Star.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino pointed out, “Most of the 24 pending road projects should have been finished on July 29, September 3, and October 11. We need to know the reasons for such delays. I’m sure there is a valid reason for that.”

The MMDA said that the unfinished road works prevented them from opening up many of the “Christmas lanes” or alternate routes for motorists to beat traffic jams on main roads during the holiday season.
