It’s tough weekend for the Under 23 Akzals team, who are in Bangkok for the AFC U23 Championship 2016 Qualifiers.

The team lost both games they were scheduled to play over the weekend.

On Friday, Team Philippines played North Korea, which opened the score boards at the 17th minute of the game. Kyong-Jin’s penalty kick widened the gap at 2-0 come half time.

“With just 5 minutes into the second half, the North Korean team was able to widen the lead 3-0 via a Jang Ok-Chol conversion,” reports Adrian Stewart Co on Panay News Philippines. In the 80th minute, Pak Hyon-Il’s goal at the 80th minute sealed North Korea’s victory.

Sunday saw Team Philippines finally score a goal in its second game versus Thailand. But it was nothing compared to its opponent which scored 5 goals total.

Thailand scored 3 goals in a span of 11 minutes from the 55th to the 66th minutes of the game. “Paolo Salenga pulled a goal back for the Philippines with two minutes remaining,” notes Tor Chittinand on Bangkok Post.

The U23 Azkals still has one more game on Tuesday against Cambodia.
