DOTC Sec. Jun Abaya to public: ‘Riding the MRT is a personal decision’

He’s basically saying, “If anything happens to you while you’re riding the train, it’s kind of your fault, too.”

“Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya insisted on Thursday, August 14, that riding the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3) is safe, despite the accident, which happened Wednesday, August 13, leaving 38 injured,” reports Aries Joseph Hegina on Inquirer.net.

In an interview on Radyo Inquirer 990 AM, Abaya pointed out that “full operations of the MRT3 resumed almost immediately after the crash reflected that the system is intact.”

Abaya then fired off this statement: “Riding (the MRT) is a personal decision. I won’t go out of my way to convince the people to ride. It’s every person’s decision. This is a free country.”

Our question: What has he been sniffing?
