While Azkals coach Thomas Doodley has accepted the apology of Filipino-German Stephan Shrock, he says Shrock has yet to express his interest of coming back to the team.

The coach isn’t closing the door on the midfielder but “he hinted that it would take more than an apology through text message for Schrock to make his way back to the team,” reports Celdelf Tupas on Inquirer.net.

The report goes on to quote Doodley: “First of all, he never asked me about being part of the team. Second, he texted me with an apology. I accepted his apology, and I said, yeah everybody makes a mistake. He’s young, so I [accepted] his apology.”

According to Doodley, there were things he said that needs to be corrected. “And if that’s corrected, I think there would be a door open.”

Azkals team manager Dan Palami remains upbeat that Shrock will be able to return and play.
