Don’t take what everything you get from Facebook as gospel truth.
“The Archdiocese of Manila has warned the public against bogus circulars that are currently circulating on the internet, particularly one that asks for donations as a birthday gift to Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle,” reports Leslie Ann Aquino in Manila Bulletin.
The report revealed that the bogus circulars are being posted on the fake Facebook account with username “Archbishop Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle, DD, STD.”
Apparently, even with the obvious acronym indicating sexually transmitted diseases, there are still many people who have fallen for the bogus acocunt’s announcements.
Peachy Yamsuan of the Office of Communications of the archdiocese was quoted as saying, “The Archdiocese of Manila has previously issued warnings against this FB account and the attention of FB has been called but the bogus FB continues to operate.”
