Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird, no it’s a plane. No, it’s … the “French Spiderman” climbing a Makati City tower.

French urban climber Alain Robert climbed the G.T. International Tower in Makati City earlier today, a feat captured by multiple netizens who posted videos of him on social media.

The tower is the 9th tallest building in the country. It measures 217 meters (712.93 feet) and has 43 stories.

Facebook user Ran Zen Rendiza shared a video of the free climber scaling the tower. “He doesn’t have a rope,” he said in the post in Filipino.

Twitter user @villamarpamela also shared a video and said: “Oh no there’s a guy climbing the GT tower without equipment.”

Facebook user Mark Santiago posted a video on Robert’s Facebook page and said: “A lot of people sacrificed their lunch break for you. LOL”

In another video posted by Twitter user @rm_569, viewers can see Robert climbing the building. The 56-year-old can be seen wearing a camera attached to his head, dark long sleeves, and yellow pants.

“He’s taking a video,” some people in the background say in Filipino. One woman can be heard asking towards the end of the video, “Why are you doing this?”

Robert was seen descending the building before noon, ABS-CBN News reported.

“Climbing is [not just] my passion but also my philosophy of life,” a quote on his website reads.

Robert has made it into the Guinness World Record for “Most buildings climbed” after conquering 121 structures in 2015.

The solo urban climber uses pipes, window frames, cables, and gaps between brickwork to scale structures and buildings.

He has also climbed the Sydney Opera House, New York’s Empire State Building, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers, and Hong Kong’s Cheung Kong Centre among others.

He has been arrested numerous times because of his stunts and this time is no different.

Robert was apprehended by authorities and is now under the custody of Makati Police. Authorities said that the daredevil may be charged for trespassing or public disturbance, CNN Philippines reported.
