DOH targets QC barangays in anti-dengue drive

The Department of Health is focusing its campaign against dengue in areas in  Quezon City where “clustered” cases have been reported.

Dr. Eduardo Janairo, DOH regional director for the National Capital Region, said in an Abante report that DOH has sent teams to barangays in Quezon City with high incidences of dengue.

Among those barangays are Barangays Holy Spirit, Immaculate Concepcion, Kamuning, Kristong Hari, Lourdes, Loyola Heights, Mariana, Matandang Balara, Novaliches Proper, Pasong Putik Proper, Pasong Tamo, Payatas, Philam, Pinyahan, Project 6, San Antonio, Sto. Domingo, Sauyo, Silangan, Tandang Sora, and Tatalon.

“We have noted clustering of cases in Quezon City that is why we are mobilizing our spraymen and concentrating our efforts to combat the rising cases in noted barangays in the city. Anti-dengue misting operations and larviciding will be conducted in these areas to eliminate mosquitoes and larvae,” Janairo said.

Those barangays have had three or more cases of dengue reported in a week.
