DOH records more firecracker victims, count now at 42

What a horrible difference a day makes.

Yesterday, we reported 21 recorded firecracker injuries so far.

A day later: “The Department of Health (DOH) has reported that it has recorded a total of 42 firecracker-related injuries from Dec 21 until 6am on Dec 25,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com

The report quoted DOH Assistant Secretary Eric Tayag, who revealed that 40 people were injured due to firecracker blasts, a 23-year-old man was hit by a stray bullet, and a one-year-old boy swallowed a firecracker.

The unfortunate thing is 18 of the victims were not the ones who used the fireworks. In other words, they got hurt because of another person’s irresponsibility.
