“The Department of Health (DOH) revealed that 585 new HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) cases last month, the most recorded in a single month since 1984,” reports Philippine News Agency on InterAksyon.com.
The report noted: “The July figure brings the total HIV cases this year to 3,399 and is 30% more than the 449 recorded in the same month last year.”
The DOH added that 90 deaths were reported from January to July this year.
