DOH aims to break Guinness World Records on organ donation

This is a worthy cause.

On Feb 28, the Department of Health (DOH) will try to break two Guinness World Records on the “most people to sign up for organ donations.”

First, we have to beat the record of having “the most number of pledged organ donors in one hour, single site,” which is currently held by India with 2,755 donors. Then there’s also the “the most number of pledged organ donors in eight hours, single site,” which is also held by India with 10,450 donors.

“The DOH is likewise hoping to set new records for the ‘the most number of pledged donors in multiple sites,’ with locations set up at the track and field oval of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Sta. Mesa, Manila), the Quezon City Memorial Circle, RTMC (Fernando City, La Union); L. Mamba Gym (Tuguegarao City, Cagayan), JMR Coliseum (Naga City), and the Almendras Gym (Davao City),” reports Sheila Crisostomo in The Philippine Star.
