When they said smoking can kill you, they didn’t mean it this way.
“Dr. Noel Villacorta, who works for the New Bilibid Prison hospital, was killed in a street attack on Tuesday afternoon, Jan 7 in Muntinlupa City,” reports Jaymee T. Gamil in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Police said that Villacorta was having a cigarette break with a female doctor outside a canteen near Alabang Medical Center (where he worked part-time) at around 415pm when he was shot at least four times by an unidentified gunman.
According to the report, “Villacorta’s colleagues at the NBP hospital described him as a “low-profile” man who led a simple lifestyle and had no known enemies.”
The investigation is still ongoing.
