Doctor says he treated kids who allegedly took drugs at ‘Forever Summer’ concert

Kids do the darndest things — and parents often hope it isn’t drugs.

A doctor fro St Luke’s Medical Center claims he has treated patients aged 12 to 15 years old in the aftermath of the “Forever Summer” concert last weekend that claimed five lives.

Dr Wency Kiat “revealed that the kids had not been brought to him under an emergency situation. They had managed to get home after the event. However, their parents brought them to the hospital the following day after noticing that the kids weren’t able to sleep and were absent-minded,” reports ABS-CBN News.

Kiat went on to disclose that the tests done on the kids showed that they were “positive for ecstasy, marijuana, and shabu or methamphetamine.” Kiat pointed out that the test done was only to screen the substance in the kids’ systems. A confirmatory test has to be done if the specific drug involved is to be identified.

When questioned by their parents, the kids allegedly admitted to buying the drugs for “PHP1,000 a pop.” The kids claimed that the person or persons selling the drugs told them to take only half of it. The kids said they then took the drugs when they were already at the concert venue. Kiat was not able to clarify if the kids also bought the drugs near the vicinity of the concert or elsewhere.

Kiat said he did not recommend rehabilitation for the minors, and only advised their parents to monitor their condition.
