Divisoria street vendor shot dead

The man was just trying to make a living, but he ended up dead.

“Street vendor Edilberto dela Cruz, Jr., 40, died after being shot by a still-unidentified assailant near 999 Mall in Divisoria, Manila,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to the victim’s wife, Emerlina, they had been setting up their wares when a man approached. When she turned her back, that was when she heard the shots. Unfortunately, she said she wasn’t able to get a good look at the suspect.

The report said that the slain street vendor “bore four gunshot wounds to the body and face.” Emerlina revealed that she suspects that “a misunderstanding regarding the location of their store was the motive behind the shooting, as they had been previously forced to leave the spot.”
