A fire that broke out at a mall in one of Manila’s old commercial hubs on Thursday morning could take two days to put out, the Manila Fire Bureau said.
Around 100 fire trucks from across Metro Manila were dispatched to Divisoria Mall in Binondo, Manila, an Inquirer report said quoting Manila firefighter Chief Inspector Bonifacio Carta.
The fire that broke out late before dawn Thursday in Divisoria Mall was still raging by afternoon. Firefighters have been trying to enter the building but have been kept out by flames and smoke.
According to the report, the fifth and sixth floors of the mall have already sagged and fire has damaged 90 percent of the building.
There have been no fatalities reported so far.
