“After being allowed to sell over the holiday season, Manila City Hall officials and some policemen started to drive away vendors at Divisoria,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The clean-up drive is reportedly the first step in the city government’s plan to turn Divisoria into an attraction site for tourists. Manila supposedly “plans to turn Divisoria into something like Hong Kong and Thailand’s night markets.”
