DILG sets aside PHP170 million for makeover of police stations

It’s time for a change of exteriors.

“Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas has bared the national government’s plans to allocate PHP170 million for the ‘makeover’ of all police stations nationwide,” reports Czarina Ong in Manila Bulletin.

The report explained that “this joint project of the DILG and the Philippine National Police (PNP) will refurbish and upgrade worn-out and decrepit police stations.

Roxas was quoted as saying that “the primary purpose of the project is to improve the image of the police organization and bring dignity to its personnel.”

Uh, if he says so.
