He didn’t exactly give a straight answer, but it sounds like a no or “I don’t want to play with him.”
“Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas (DILG) nixed a possible team-up with Vice President Jejomar ‘Jojo’ Binay for the 2016 elections,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Binay had said taht he is open to having Roxas as his running-mate in 2016.
However, when Roxas was asked to weigh in on the possible team-up, he said in Filipino, “This isn’t about Mar or Jojo in 2016. The most important thing is for us to stick to Daang Matuwid.”
Roxas then added, “It’s clear that the agenda of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) is the opposite to the agenda championed by the Liberal Party (LP).”
Like Aquino, Roxas is an LP member. Binay is identified with UNA.
Nevertheless, the report noted that “Roxas said he will accept and support the President’s choice as standard-bearer whether it be him or someone else.”
