Don’t plan any spur-of-the-moment trips unless you have a passport.

“To those who are planning to get or have their passports renewed, expect that the process of releasing it will take a longer time because the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is currently undergoing a systems upgrade,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.  

The report said that the release of passports will be as follows:

Express Processing
Before: 7 working days
Now: 10 working days

Normal Processing
Before: 15 working days
Now: 20 working days
