DFA reports 193 new Covid cases among Filipinos abroad, for a total of 8,609 active cases

On the last week of August, the DFA reports that there were 193 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad, bringing the overall total to 22,906 confirmed cases, with 8,609 people currently undergoing treatment. There were 120 recoveries over the past week, along with two fatalities.

These numbers are much lower than those reported on August 23, when the DFA reported 946 new confirmed cases, 205 recoveries, and 35 fatalities. Still, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities, recoveries, and those under treatment saw a slight increase of 0.15%, 0.94%, and 0.83%, respectively.

The Americas was the only region that did not report any new cases this week.
