The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has published the latest reports of Covid-19 cases among Filipinos abroad. With 174 new cases confirmed today, June 14, 2021, the total number of cases stands at 20,267. Eighteen people also died, bringing the total toll to 1,217 deaths.

After weeks of new cases in the single digits, this is the second day that the DFA reports a surge in cases among expatriate Filipinos across 94 countries, after recording 153 new cases last Friday, June 11. According to the DFA’s website, the spike is due to an increase in reported cases in Asia and the Pacific.

There were also eight new recoveries, which brings the total number of recovered and discharged patients to 12,085. There are still 6,965 patients undergoing treatment.
