DFA Advisory: 7,832 Filipinos living abroad are under treatment for Covid-19, as of August 16, 2021

Over the past week, there were only a total of 36 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad living in 101 foreign countries or territories, reports the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). There were also 45 new recoveries, and unfortunately, seven deaths from Covid-19 over the previous week.

This brings the total number of active cases to 7,832. Overall, however, there have been 21,767 overseas Filipinos who have been recorded with Covid-19, with 12,603 recovered. A total of 1,332 Filipinos abroad have died because of the virus.

Compared to last week’s figures, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities and recoveries increased slightly by 0.53%, and 0.36%, respectively, while those under treatment decreased by 0.20%.
