(UPDATED) Gunfire shook Resorts World Manila in Pasay City around midnight Friday.
Multiple gunshots were heard in the background while ABS-CBN News’ April Rafales was reporting live about the incident.
Eyewitnesses told police that gunmen in incident are wearing masks and black shirts.
Several people were seen injured, but police and Resorts World management have yet to give details.
A part of the hotel-casino complex is also now on fire, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
A casino employee told DZMM Teleradyo that there was a fire on the 2nd floor, while the gunshots could be heard in a restaurant also on the same floor.
Another employee who described himself as a casino dealer said that one of the attackers spilled flammable liquid on one of the casino tables and set it on fire.
The resort-casino area has been put on lockdown.
According to a report in Rappler, the Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Office asked the media to refrain from airing raw information because it could compromise the operations in the area.
