Marikina police have revealed that the “dental clinic serial robber” they are looking for may be a copycat or accomplice of the original one.
The development came after officials of the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) disclosed that the serial killer , Albert Galang dela Cruz, had died in prison in March this year. He was convicted in 2011 for robbing more than a dozen clinics and sexually assaulting several dentists or their staff. The suspect has confessed to 19 out of the 23 incidents , which took place all over Metro Manila.
Marikina police investigation chief Senior Insp. Eduardo Cayetano, who is working on a recent case which involved the rape of a dental assistant and robbery at the actual clinic in Barangay Concepcion Uno, said prison officials have forwarded them a copy of dela Cruz’s death certificate. However, police believe that at least six of dela Cruz’s accomplices are still on the loose, Inquirer News reported.
