It’s that time of the year again.
“The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is asking Filipinos to support the government’s fight against climate change by participating in this year’s Earth Hour at 8:30 p.m. on March 28,” reports Michael Punongbayan in The Philippine Star.
The report noted: “Earth Hour is a global annual event in which participants shut off lights for one hour in support of international efforts to address climate change.”
DENR Secretary Ramon Paje was quoted as saying, “The significance of Earth Hour is rooted in the larger context of climate change. When we switch off lights and conserve energy produced from carbon fuels, we help mitigate climate change.”
