“At around 2pm on Wednesday, September 17, Deniece Cornejo posted a PHP500,000 bail for the case of serious illegal detention filed against her by actor Vhong Navarro before the sala of Judge Paz Esperanza-Cortes Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 271,” reports Rizal Obanil on Manila Bulletin Online.
The report quoted Cornejo’s lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, as saying in a phone interview, “The fight is far from over and this only the first step toward attaining justice for my client.”
Topacio went on to say that they were “just waiting for the release order from the court that would make Cornejo a free woman.”
