Earlier Friday afternoon, your brother Ron Poe updated his status on Facebook about his drunk driving. Kindly see above.
We understand that it is his wall and it’s personal space and he can put pretty much anything in there, and we’ll even give it to him that perhaps this is all just drunken revelry, too. But a lot is not right with all that.
First of all, drunk driving is against the law.
Second, nobody is above the law.
Third, it is his wall, we understand but it’s our roads he’s driving on. That means he poses a danger not just to himself, but more importantly, to others. Granted nobody got hurt that time. But, how many others did during all the other times that someone decided to drive home drunk?
Fourth, it’s his wall, yes but the status update was for public viewing—check out the globe symbol. This makes it public property, only adding insult to injury. He is a DJ with nearly 3,000 Facebook followers. What sort of message does this put out?
Fifth, he is related to you, an elected government official and public servant. By now, he should be already aware of what that means, and take extra care of your family’s name.
Sixth, drunk driving is, plain and simple, wrong! And to be blunt, it’s stupid.
Seventh, if this is his idea of a joke, please tell him it’s not funny. Again, he is a DJ with nearly 3,000 Facebook followers. He’ll need to be funnier or straighten the joke some more so that more of us will understand his brand of humor.
While it got quite a number of likes, there were commenters who reminded him just how stupid and dangerous drunk driving is. This is all he had to say:

Ma’am, we know this has nothing to do with you, and we hate to tarnish your good name and reputation. But perhaps you can help us on this matter. Apart from topping the Senate elections a few years ago, you are his relative. Perhaps he will listen to you. Please tell Ron Poe that drunk driving is wrong and foolish and dangerous.
Thank you for your time.
