The usually busy C5 became the site of a gruesome discovery early yesterday morning when the body of a dead man was found near the road in Taguig, City.

The victim has not been identified as he did not have an identification card on him but he is believed to have been around 29 to 30 years old, recent reports state.

Taguig City police’s Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) said that the body did not have any bullet or stab marks, which indicates that the victim may have been suffocated using plastic, GMA News’ Balitambayan reported.

The body was found wrapped in a blanket, with the man’s face wrapped in cellophane by C5’s southbound lane. It was by a wall past Upper McKinley Rd. The victim was wearing checkered shorts and a t-shirt.

Witnesses say they saw two men allegedly drop the dead body off from a moving vehicle. They then walked towards Upper McKinley Rd. while the vehicle continued traversing the southbound lane. However, the witnesses were unable to take down the vehicle’s plate number, Abante Tonite reported

Police suspect that the man may have been the victim of summary execution, the same Abante Tonite report states. Authorities are now collecting CCTV footage that could give more information about the incident, Diaryo Bomba wrote.

The dead body has been brought to a funeral parlor and the police are currently investigating the incident.
