Pregnancy in itself is hard. Dealing with a terrorist attack while carrying triplets sounds infinitely more difficult.
Presidential daughter and Davao city mayor Sara Duterte, who publicly announced her sensitive multiple pregnancy on Aug 19, said that she lost two of the babies in her womb, just days after the deadly bombing in Davao City.
Sara, who learned that he identical twins lost their heartbeats after the flag ceremony on Mon, said she cried all day upon learning the news.
Her triplets were two identical twins and one fraternal. The baby left with a heartbeat is still fighting.
The doctors could not determine what caused the fetal deaths. They will not be extracted yet because it might affect the surviving baby.
“I feel sad but everything happens for a reason. So we just have to trust God sa plano niya,” she said in an ABS-CBN interview.
The 38-year-old mayor earlier slammed forensic pathologist Raquel Fortun, who siad that her pregnancy announcement was “PR for lolo.”
Sara has two kids, Sharky and Stingray, with husband Atty. Manases Carpio.
