You can’t force the man to run for president.
“Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, known for his hard-hitting stance against criminality, has turned down calls for him to run for president in the 2016 elections,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The reported quoted Duterte as saying, “You will regret kung ako presidente. Ipapasara ko ang Customs. Malawak ang dagat na parkingan (You will regret it if I’m president. I’d close down the Bureau of Customs. The ocean is a wide parking space).”
Reporters have recently been asking Duterte if he has plans to run for president in 2016, as several Facebook fan pages have been set up urging him to do so. Duterte’s reaction to this has been this terse quip: “Stop. Hindi ako interesado. Okay na ako sa trabaho ko (Stop. I’m not interested. I’m okay with my job).”
