Slain advertising executive Kae Davantes was merely a few steps away from home when tragedy struck. With no less than President Aquino monitoring the case, three suspects in the case have been taken into custody by the authorities, who have been optimistic that the disturbing murder could be resolved. On Saturday evening, the police task force leading the investigation into Davantes’ slay announced that they had taken into custody two suspects identified as Lloyd Enriquez, 18, and Reggie “Jojo” Diel, 30.

Police arrested Enriquez in Muntinlupa, while Diel managed to slip away from authorities before surrendering to the Las Piñas police through an intervention by a local priest. On Friday, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation nabbed Samuel Decino, 19, who narrated what happened to the victim. Decino said Davantes was about to open the gate of their house when his group pounced on her. Her mouth gagged, Davantes was brought to her car. The suspects drove to Cavite where the suspect’s body was thrown away. Police are still looking for two other suspects. MM
