In a perfect world, these types of cases should be solved before the culprits strike again.
“Malabon City Hall employee Felizardo Coralde, 47, and his son Albert, 19, son were found hogtied, their throats slit, in their bedrooms in Barangay Ibaba, Malabon City on Thursday morning, Feb 6,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
The bodies were found by Coralde’s wife, Vilma, and other family members at around 5am. The report noted that “Vilma told investigators that some of their things were scattered on the floor and some items—a tablet, a laptop, several cell phones and pieces of jewelry—were missing.”
Malabon police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad said initial investigation points to robbery as a motive in the killing. However, he added that they “are not closing our doors to any other possibilities.”
Witnesses say two men were seen running away from the Coralde house shortly before 3am that day.
