In a statement, the Customs said that the party pills originated from the Netherlands and Belgium. Tests have confirmed that the drugs were indeed ecstasy or methylenedioxymethamphetamine.

The drugs were turned over today to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, which will be responsible for building a case against the alleged importers for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

It was just last month when Customs officials found PHP4.5 million-worth (US$91,647) of methamphetamine inside chocolate wafer tin cans at the Pasay City airport.
