A couple got shot to death near a market in Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City on Friday night, Oct 25.
“Jigs Nirona and Rhodora Agoncillo died on the spot after they were attacked by four motorcycle-riding assailants,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.
According to Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the Quezon City Police District’s homicide investigation section, the couple had just arrived home in their car when they were shot several times.
Agoncillo, a widow, reportedly owned a stall at the Commonwealth Market. Nirona was allegedly separated from his wife. The slain victims were said to have had a relationship before they got married to their respective spouses. They got back together after Agoncillo’s husband died.
Police said they were looking at the love triangle angle after they found out that Nirona’s estranged wife had once caused a scene in the neighborhood where the couple lived.
