Why did they check into the hotel in the first place?
“Arvin del Rosario, 46, and his girlfriend Mary Jane Castellvi, 43, landed in jail after they allegedly tried to escape from paying their hotel bills at Hotel Paris, which is located at 251 Ubas Street in Barangay Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City,” reports Itchie G. Cabayan on Journal Online.
The report noted: “The couple’s detention stemmed from a complaint filed with the Manila Police District-Police Station 11 by Nieves Santos, 32, duty manager of Hotel
According to the investigation, the couple checked in at the said hotel at around 7pm last Mar 24. Then, on Mar 25, they were seen on the CCTV monitor going out of their room one after the other. Santos thought they were acting suspicious, so she asked the hotel’s security officer to accost them.
When they were asked to settle their bill, which amounted to PHP2,000, they said they didn’t have any money. Thus, they were brought straight to the police station.
