You can forget about the photo because come the month of May, our cops will be wearing new uniforms.
“Purisima said he has given instruction to different directorates involved in the preparation of the new police uniforms to fasttrack their work, reminding them that comfort, functionality and presentability are the prime consideration in the next sets of police uniforms,” reports Cecille Suerte Felipe in The Philippine Star.
The redesigning of the uniform was done because some policemen were complaining that their current uniform—a gray-blue top and dark blue pants made of 100 percent polyester—is too hot. As such, the new uniforms will most likely be made of a cotton and polyester blend.
Purisima pointed out that the new sets of uniforms for policemen “will not entail any additional cost for the PNP or the government since each policeman is entitled to receive a PHP14,000 Replacement Clothing Allowance (RCA) every three years.”
